INPUT DEVICE FOR SAFETY-BASED INPUTS, BASED ON TOUCHSCREEN TECHNOLOGIES

An input device (1) has a touch panel (2) for touching by an operator (4) and has a plurality of mutually independent identification devices (3). Each of the identification devices (3) can be used to identify whether, and if appropriate at what point, the touch panel (2) has been touched. The identification devices (3) jointly and identically identify touching of the touch panel (2), when the input device (1) is functioning correctly. They are designed using in each case one of the technologies which are known for so-called touchscreens.
