The method involves continuously measuring a kinematic parameter i.e. rotation angle, between a body structure and a wheel of a motor vehicle using a vehicle level sensor device (1) e.g. rotary angle sensor. Another parameter between the body structure and the wheel of the motor vehicle is determined by differential formation of measured values of the rotation angle, where the latter parameter is provided as an output signal. A path acceleration of a swivel arm (4) of the vehicle level sensor device is determined from a temporal change of an angular speed between the body structure and wheel. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle level sensor device for determination of the kinematic parameter between the body structure and the wheel of the motor vehicle.
