The sliding vane pump has a rotor (2) that consists of radially moving wing (3) guided in a slot. The wing forms a wing head which with a contact edge glides along an inner contour of a cam ring (4) arranged in a pump housing (1). The cam ring has a stroke contour for the wings and forms operating cells with the wings. The wing head has a contour by which the running edge is formed in the rear third of the wing head. The running edge is formed by the cam ring internal contour and wing head contour.
