The pump assembly has a vane pump (1) with a rotor (2), an eccentric ring (3) surrounded to the rotor and a received wings (5) sliding in radial running slots (4) of the rotor. The pump chambers (6) are delimited in an axial direction with respect to a longitudinal axis of a drive shaft (8) provided to a drive of the vane pump by a first ring body and a second ring body. The axial position of the first ring body is variable for increasing or decreasing the volumes of the pump chambers. A regulating unit is provided for changing the position of the first ring body.
