The package (1) has a plastic bowl (2) and a foil (3), which are connected with each other at edges in a material-conclusive manner. Food such as ham slice (4), is packed in the food package by a product disk produced by a cutting machine or product disk portions, which is produced from the product disks. The food has an optically pleasing side (A) and an optically less pleasing side (B). The food lies in the food package, such that the side (A) of the food overlies on the plastic bowl of the food package, and the side (B) of the food points the foil of the food package.
