The device (1) has light-emitting elements (3) i.e. LEDs, arranged in a plane. The elements are repetitively moved in a space such that a movement direction does not lie in the plane, where the movement direction runs at an angle of 90 degrees to the plane. Light emissions are producible by the light-emitting elements in a temporally sequential manner during execution of the movement. A spatial representation is producible by the light emissions. The direction of the movement does not run parallel to straight lines of the light-emitting elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a spatial representation.
