Process for extracting an essential oil having a high content of thymoquinone from a part of Nigella sativaplant, comprises extracting aromatic water comprising essential oil using combination of microwave and impulse vacuum. An independent claim is included for a system for extracting an oil having a high thymoquinone content obtained from Nigella sativapart, implementing the process, comprising means for preparing the Nigellaplant part, from water, means for extracting (from the preparation) aromatic water comprising essential oil using combination of microwave and an impulse vacuum, and means for separation of water and aromatic oil comprising thymoquinone.
