The backrest (1) has a slide (12) connected to pins (8, 9) having a constant curve, and a spiral return spring displacing a headrest (6) to its lower position. A lock (16) maintains the headrest in upper position, in its active state and releases the headrest in its inactive state. A support (10) is mounted on a structure (2) that is in the form of a tubular frame, by an articulation element i.e. ball and socket joint (20), having degree of freedom, where the element is rotated around an orientation axis. The element authorizes three degrees of freedom between the support and the structure.
