PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gelatin embolization substance.;SOLUTION: There are provided the crosslinked gelatin which includes an endotoxin content reduced to 1 EU/mL per 1.0% of proteins, is obtained by crosslinking gelatin having a mol.wt. of 30,000 to 300,000 without an external crosslinking agent, and includes a degree of crosslinking wherein a dissolution time in physiological salt solution is ≤240 h; an embolization agent comprising the crosslinked gelatin; and a method for producing the crosslinked gelatin, comprising heating gelatin having an endotoxin content reduced to 1 EU/mL per 1.0% of proteins, and having a mol.wt. of 30,000 to 300,000 in a substantially anhydrous state at 100 to 150°C without an outer crosslinking agent to obtain the crosslinked gelatin having a degree of crosslinking wherein a dissolution time in physiological salt solution is ≤240 h.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
