The unit has a sensor (10) assembled in a casing and consists of a piezoelectric crystal, where the unit is stable at temperatures above 800 degree centigrade. The sensor detects information such as identification of unit, physical characteristics of unit, movements of unit, operating time of unit and position of unit, during the application of unit and transmits the detected information to a data processing system. The sensor is formed with an antenna (16) for wireless reception and transfer of radio signals. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring a construction unit based on ceramic material.
