PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a business form design device for easily designing and printing the layout of a business form even by using a low performance printer. PSOLUTION: The business form design device 10 includes a business form design tool 21 for accepting from a user the input about the layout of a business form; a design information acquisition part 31 for securing a logical page 200 based on business form design information 100 received from a business form tool; a region/number of digit management part 32 for creating a grid 201 as the division of lines and characters on a logical page based on the business form design information; a character type acquisition part 34 for determining the presence/absence of the change of the type of characters from the business form design information; a character pitch detection part 35 for detecting a character pitch in a range where the type of characters are changed; and a grid reproduction part 37 for recreating grids based on the character pitch in the range where the type of characters are changed.
