This application is in the field of Plant Breeding and Disease Resistance. More specifically, the application includes a method for the cultivation of soybean plants containing quantitative trait locus associated with Asian soybean rust Resistance (ASR), a fungal disease associated with gender Phakopsora.The application also includes use of the Germ plasm and Germ plasm containing quantitative trait locus (QTL) conferring resistance to diseases, for the introduction of elite germplasm in a Breeding Program for resistance to ASR.Claim 1: a method for the production of soybean plants resistant to ASR, which comprises: a) the realization of the marker assisted selection to identify a soybean plant with the ASR resistance locus 14 14, where the Locus of Resistance to ASR is obtained by Pi291309c TIR; and (b) the generation of offspring of the soybean Plant.Where Lineages that possess this locus 14 ASR exhibited resistance to at least partial resistance to ASR.
