The invention applies to steam turbines operating in cogeneration and it covers methods and equipment that lead to a partial decrease or total elimination of heat losses by the cooling water in the exhaust steam condenser. The method covers the following stages: separation of part of the exhaust steam at the steam turbine outlet, mixing of exhaust steam with softened water, compression of the steam water mixture, separation of part of the compressed steam water mixture exceeding the consumption of the steam turbine as a working system of prefixed values for technical or utility heat aims. The device includes: a collector (11) connected to the exhaust steam outlet of the turbine (2), a mixing and compressing block(12) its inlet being connected to the outlet of the collector (11) and its outlet is connected to a final surface condenser (15) with softened cooling water, the condensate outlet of the surface condenser (15) is connected by a feed pump (4Æ) to a second collector (11Æ),connected to the inlet of the steam turbine (1), the surface condenser (15) outlet for softened cooling water is connected by a transfer pump (19) to the softened water inlet of the mixing and compression block (12) having an outlet for separation of the processed water.
