The present invention is related to the production of a thermoplastic compound, which is used as a pre-dispersed asphalt modifier with high polymer concentrations. The compound has as a base polymer a styrene and butadiene thermoplastic block elastomer, plasticizing oil, other polymers such as: styrene and butadiene random copolymer, Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) copolymer, polyethylene waxes, process additives and in some cases asphalt. Said compound is pre-dispersed in a high shearing twin screw extruder, or in other type of high shearing equipment useful for the thermoplastic processing. The compound is produced in a pellet special shape due to the easy handle and incorporation into the asphalt mixture. The invention is also related to the process for producing the asphalt modifier and the ingredients thereof, the final product and the use thereof for the described application.
