The currency substitution medium processing device (1) is also provided with an easy check section (11) for receiving the image data from the image reading section (15) and easily checking the image data. The easy check section (11) easily checks the image data by using at least any one of the data size of the image data, the presence/absence of the printing of a specific portion of the image data, and the ratio of black to white of the whole image data.
