PURPOSE: A multimedia device and a remote controller and a method for changing a system language of multimedia device using the remote controller are provided to transmit infrared rays of command including a language code value from the remote controller and check a language code value included in the infrared rays at the multimedia device thereby conveniently changing the system language.;CONSTITUTION: A display module(40) displays a language selection menu. A command generator(45) generates an instrinsic language code value corresponding to the language selected through the language selection menu. An IR transmittor(44) transmits an infra signal including the instrinsic language code value. The micom(42) controls an operation display of the language selection menu and a transmission operation of the IR signal.
