PURPOSE: A method of controlling an electric compressor of an air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to enhance the running performance and the mileage by reducing the power consumed by an electric compressor of a hybrid vehicle.;CONSTITUTION: A current vehicle speed and the rotation number of an engine are detected(S200). The restricted rotation number of the electric compressor corresponding to the rotation number of an engine and the detected vehicle speed are computed (S600). The rotation number of the electric compressor is controlled to be below the computed restricted rotation number(S700). As a result of determining based on the detected current vehicle speed and the rotation number of an engine, only if the vehicle is in an idle state, the restricted rotation number of the electric compressor is computed and the rotation number of the electric compressor is controlled.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
