FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in removal of C and S from material by oxidizing roasting in rotating furnace. Further, this material is reduced with reducer for extraction of valuable metal containing at least one metal from group including V, Mo and Ni. Material containing C and S is charged into a roasting chamber from the side of a burner. Flow of gas containing oxygen and introduced into the roasting chamber is directed parallel along direction of material displacement in the roasting chamber. The rotating furnace consists of the roasting chamber for treatment of material containing C and S, of the burner positioned from the side of material charge into the roasting chamber and of a pipeline supplying oxygen containing gas into the roasting chamber. Notably, direction of material displacement in the roasting chamber and direction of the flow of oxygen containing gas are parallel to each other.;EFFECT: reduced contents of C and S and raised level of extraction of one metal out of group including V, Mo and Ni.;13 cl, 8 tbl, 7 dwg, 1 ex
