The guidance has a clamping element (6) connected with another clamping element and/or a supporting element by bars, which extend parallel to a guide rail (1) and form a closed frame in an external area of the clamping and/or supporting elements. The bars are fixed at the clamping and/or supporting elements such that one of the bars exhibits an actuator. Extension or shortening of the bars is achieved by the actuator for tilting side pieces (4, 5) of the clamping elements against the guide rail for realizing braking or clamping effect. The actuators are formed by a linear drive, which uses components for actuating the drive, where the components use an electroactive polymer or a shape memory alloy.
