The system has a gripper tube (11) carrying a gripper support, and a gripper shaft (12) carrying a gripper blade and supported within the gripper tube. The gripper shaft at an end side of a machine side and the gripper tube at an end side of another machine side are respectively driven by a control drive. The gripper shaft and the gripper tube are drivable at both ends by the control drive. Two drive shafts (19, 20) are arranged parallel to the gripper tube and the gripper shaft and are supported coaxial to each other.
