The filtering device (5) comprises a container (9) with an outlet (10), and a removable filter unit (11), which is hooked in the container concentrically in an arrangement and prevents a clogging of the filter. The projecting water reaches with the sludge particles into the outlet of the container. The filtering device serves as sample receiving device in the sequencing batch reactor plants by specially structuring the filtering device. The overflow of the filter unit or the anti-overflow in the sewage treatment plants is detected by a measuring device or simple overflow indicator. The filtering device (5) comprises a container (9) with an outlet (10), and a removable filter unit (11), which is hooked in the container concentrically in an arrangement and prevents a clogging of the filter. The projecting water reaches with the sludge particles into the outlet of the container. The filtering device serves as sample receiving device in the sequencing batch reactor plants by specially structuring the filtering device. The overflow of the filter unit or the anti-overflow in the sewage treatment plants is detected by a measuring device (floater or device for detecting height change or device for detecting height) or simple overflow indicator and a corresponding operation- or fault notification produces in the arrangement. The filter unit and/or container are varied with respect to material, size, shape, geometry and spatial arrangement. The filter unit and/or the container are removed with a simple traction device in the form of a chain, a rope or other device in a simple manner for mopping and cleaning and are replaced again in same way. The filtering device is housed or implemented in a separate pit or a pit system-relatedly required for the infiltration. The device or process are constituted in new sewage treatment plants or small sewage treatment plants with existing sewage treatment plants or small sewage treatment plants. The determination of the overflow of the filter unit or anti-overflow in the sequencing batch reactor plants, small sewage treatment plants and other plants is realized by a measuring device or is directly realized by the simple mechanical overflow indicator. An existing height detection of the small sewage treatment plants is used with already existing floater or existing height detection for indicating the overflow. The pore opening or mesh opening of the filter unit is variably alternatively adapted to the individual requirements of the respective plants. The measuring device for determining the overflow of the filter or anti-overflow in the sequencing batch reactor plants, small sewage treatment plants and other plants is coupled with the control of the small sewage treatment plant, is directly switched over the control or passes over an independent control. In the filter unit, the filter fabric is changed to a simple way or a disposable filter is used.
