摘要

Objective of the study was to develop a prototype working model of a packaged sewage treatment plant working on Sequencing Batch Reactor (S.B.R.) technology to treat domestic sewage from homes, residential apartments and colonies along with performance evaluation of the developed prototype model of sewage treatment plant. As it will work on Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR), the plant will only consist of an equalization tank, then SBR tank and at the end a clear water tank with/without disinfection unit (as needed). The manufacturing was done in the workshop and all the components are to be pre-engineered. On the site only connections/fitting assembly was done. Performance evaluation was carried out by testing the raw water characteristics of the influent, the treating it in the prototype and at the end teating it again to obtain effluent characteristics. All the 11 parameters gave a clear picture of performance of the prefab packaged plant and would also help in increasingits efficiency further for future. Further research was extended by using Multi Grade Filter (M.G.F.), Activated Carbon Filter (A.C.F.) and Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) along with Ultra-Violet (U.V.) treatment to get completely clear (aesthetically acceptable) effluent which might meet Drinking Water Indian standards. Results are tabulated after each stage of applying different advanced treatment units mentioned earlier to compare treated effluent characteristics.
