The curtain-coating unit comprises a function unit of curtain coating head (6), drip pan (7) and/or an air barrier removal device (8) that present itself directly over the surface of fiber material web (2) to be coated and in running direction of the web seen directly before the curtain to be delivered. The multi-layered curtain (3) reduces the gravity following on the surface of the fiber material web and produces a coating layer. The function units are adapted to the width of the fiber material web. The curtain coating pan comprises a front-side by which it permeates already or yet falling curtain with its front side during starting and stopping the coating process and comprises two cutting edges arranged to each other, whose width is adapted to the width of the drip pan. The upper cutting edge is arranged against the lower cutting edge in the web running direction to a modulus of 5-10 mm. The cutting edges have a vertical interval of 5-10 mm. The curtain drip pan is integrated with its cutting edges having front side in the air barrier removing unit and/or comprises a building unit. The air barrier removing unit comprises a first channel that flows into a suction opening, and a second channel that flows into a blow opening, where the openings are turned respectively to the surface of the fiber material web. The air barrier removing unit and/or the drip pan is movable back and forth with its cutting edge during starting or interrupting the coating process, where the curtain coating head remains in a tight position. The speed of the movement is 2-4 m/min. The displacement movements of the air barrier removing unit are guidable in hydraulic, electric or pneumatic way.
