The method involves directing an electromagnetic radiation on a photodiode (4) by a mirror element (3) in a receiving unit (1), where the mirror element is rotated around a rotation direction (5). The radiation is converted into image information signals by the photodiode. The information signals that are delivered from the photodiode are transmitted to a projection unit (7) and converted into an image by the projection unit. The image is displayed on a projection surface, where the information signals are converted into a modulated laser radiation that is generated from a laser. An independent claim is also included for a device for receiving and displaying a camera image of a rear view camera in a motor vehicle.
