The method involves extruding layers of a foamed plastic e.g. polypropylene and polyethylene, where the layers contain a prefilm. A clothes hanger (1) is blanked from the prefilm. The layers of the prefilm are adhesively connected together by lining, lamination, welding, gluing and/or co-extrusion. The foamed layer of the prefilm is formed as an integral foam with thickness, which is inwardly decreased from an outer surface. The clothes hanger is pressed before blanking of the clothes hanger and/or is provided with a surface profiling. An independent claim is also included for a clothes hanger comprising a foamed layer.
