The element (26) has fastening regions fixed in respective corner regions of a transmission tunnel, where the transmission tunnel is fixed by a bearing strut. A strut part (22) and a bearing house (24) are individually formed, and the element is formed as an energy absorption element. A shaft (18) is fixed by the respective fastening regions at a bottom structure (10') of a passenger car body. The element and the bearing house of a bearing of the shaft are connected by a screw connection and/or rivet joint and/or a welded joint. An independent claim is also included for a bottom structure for a passenger car body.
