The present invention relates to vascular endothelial progenitor cells introduced with a haptoglobin gene, and a composition containing the same for promoting angiogenesis, and more specifically, to vascular endothelial progenitor cells transformed with a recombinant vector containing a haptoglobin gene, a composition for promoting angiogenesis, containing the same as an active ingredient, and a method for promoting angiogenesis. The vascular endothelial progenitor cells transformed by the introduction of a haptoglobin gene according to the present invention is characterized in that the differentiation into mature vascular endothelial cells by haptoglobin expressed in cells is promoted, an activity for promoting angiogenesis is excellent, and vasculogenesis is also excellent, and thus can be useful for treating diseases caused by the preformation of blood vessels.
