PURPOSE: A device and method for analyzing a characteristic of a magnetic source on a naval ship are provided to increase reliability for predicting a result before/after building a naval ship.;CONSTITUTION: A signal measuring unit(110) measures a magnetic field signal generated in a naval ship. A pre-processing unit(130) partitions the body surface of the naval ship into face elements. A magnetic charge is distributed on the body surface of the naval ship in a discrete type. Measured data are set as target data for inverse problem analysis. An inverse problem analyzing unit(150) determines the strength of a magnetic charge distributed in a node of each element based on the magnetic field signal and shape information of the naval ship. A post-processing unit(170) calculates the strength of the magnetic field at any location of the naval ship based on the magnetic charge distribution.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
