PURPOSE: A desk and reading desk is provided to control the distance to a user by easily operating and stopping a driving unit by connecting the back plate of a reading desk to the driving unit.;CONSTITUTION: A desk and reading desk comprises a top plate(30), a back plate(310), a bottom plate(60), a driving unit(70), and a back-plate inserting unit(80). The back plate is mounted in parallel to the top plate and forms the expanded surface of the top plate. The back plate is mounted to slope to the top plate at an angle if being detached from the expanded surface of the top plate. The bottom plate comprises a back-plate supporting unit(610) and a driving guide unit(620).
