The method involves randomly selecting a subset at positions from an amount by degrees of freedom of a multi-body system (10) and positions of a final effector (12) relative to a base (14). Two useful positions are received from a measuring point list. A navigation algorithm is used for finding a shortest way connection between the useful positions. A suitability index for a mathematical model to each of individual positions of the measuring point list is determined, where positions from the measuring point list are compared with a low usefulness index. An independent claim is also included for a technical multi-body system with a final effector and a measuring unit.
