PURPOSE: A method for synthesizing mullite is provided to cost effectively improve the purity of the mullite by using kaolin and water soluble aluminum salt.;CONSTITUTION: Kaolin and water soluble aluminum salt are prepared as starting materials. The staring materials are mixed and pulverized. The pulverized product is calcinated to volatize impurities components from the pulverized product. One or more materials of zirconia or zircon and mullite seeds are added into the calcinated product to be mixed. The mixed products are introduced into a furnace.
