PURPOSE: An apparatus for excavating and sorting soil and strange materials and a method for sorting strange materials from soil and purifying the soil using the same are provided to efficiently and rapidly excavate and sort contaminated soil.;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for excavating and sorting soil and strange materials comprises a vibrating screen base(30), a vibrating screen, a vibrating unit(60), openings, side screen bases, and side screens. The vibrating screen base is installed on an excavation bucket(10) for a backhoe. The vibrating screen is detachably attached to the vibrating screen base. The vibrating unit vibrates the vibrating screen base. The openings are formed on both side plates(12) of the excavation bucket. The side screen bases are installed on the openings.
