A pneumatic repeated load triaxial apparatus for unbound granular materials and subgrade soils

This paper describes a repeated load triaxial apparatus developed at LCPC for testing of subgrade soils. This apparatus is equipped with a servo-pneumatic loading system, which allows to cycle both the axial load and the cell pressure, and thus to perform cyclic loadings following different stress paths. The paper presents a detailed description of the triaxial apparatus and its instrumentation, and then some examples of experimental results obtained with this equipment on a 0/10 mm granular material.
