PURPOSE: An euthanasia apparatus and an euthanasia method for laboratory animals are provided to kill animals in a cage without pain. CONSTITUTION: An euthanasia apparatus for laboratory animals comprises: a cage cover member(110) in which a gas introduction hole is formed in one side; a fixing member(120) which is connected to the cage cover member and fixes the cover member on the cage; a gas storage container(130) in which the gas for euthanasia is saved; a gas supply line(140) interlinking the gas introduction hole and gas storage container; and a control device(150) controlling the supply of the gas to the cage cover member.
