The method involves creating a model of the technical system with partial components. A failure behavior describing/affecting parameter is determined for the partial components of the technical system for determining partial risks. A resulting probability of a damaging event for the technical system is determined as total risk from the determined partial risks. The determined total risk is compared with threshold values to determine a tolerable risk. An independent claim is included for computer program product for determining outgoing risks for user in designing of technical system.
