The applicator device (9) comprises an application substance (15) which is formed as a continuous material. A supply device (18) is provided for wetting the application substance with the liquid for forming a wetted application substance. An applicator roller (12) is formed for rolling the wetted application substance on a connecting area (8) for applying the liquid on the connecting area. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a processing station for production of photovoltaic module plates in a production line; and (2) a method for applying a liquid, particularly a cleaning liquid or a primer liquid on a connecting area.
