Producing a flow (3a) comprising at least 95 vol.% of nitrogen comprises: (a) combusting (1) at least a hydrocarbon fuel (1a) to obtain at least one smoke flow (1d) comprising at least 50 vol.% of nitrogen and carbon dioxide; capturing (2) carbon dioxide in the smoke flow to obtain at least one flow rich in carbon dioxide and at least a first residual flow including at least 80 vol.% of nitrogen; and (c) separating the first residual flow into at least one flow comprising at least 95 vol.% of nitrogen and at least one second residual flow.
