The tank has an envelope (1) defining a gas storage volume. A mechanical reinforcement layer (3) is arranged on a part of an external surface of the envelope. A protection layer (4) is deposited on a part of an external surface of the reinforcement layer. The protection layer includes constituents selected among epoxy type or vinylester type resin and a mixture of resin quoted with glass or carbon fibers or carbon black loads. The reinforcement layer is made of polyamide type 6. The envelope is made of material selected among steel, aluminum alloy and thermoplastic. An independent claim is also included for a tank manufacturing method.
