METHODS OF SELECTING AN ANIMAL BREEDING FOR AN ANIMAL SUBPOPULATION, DIAGNOSIS OF A WELFARE STATE, DISEASE OR DISORDER, OR A PREDISPOSITION TO DISEASE OR FISIOLIC DISEASE IN A FISCAL AND ANALYZAL FISIONAL DISEASE ANIMAL AND ITS PROPENSE TO DEVELOP DISEASE OR TO RESPOND TO A NUTRITIONAL TREATMENT AND FEED COMPOSITION. A method for preparing an animal feed composition comprising: (a) accessing at least one database comprising a first data set relating a functional genomic profile of a tissue or biofluid sample from an animal with physiological condition and optionally genotype of the animal. animal; (b) access at least one database comprising a second data set related to the effects of bioactive dietary components on functional genomic profile; (c) by using an algorithm derived from these data sets, processing input data defining the physiological condition and optionally genotype of an animal subpopulation to derive a welfare-promoting nutritional formula from one or more animals of the subpopulation; and (d) preparing a feed composition based on a nutritional formula.
