The present invention relates to an accounting file management system formanaging an accounting file of an entity, and to a method associated thereto.Thesystem integrates and interlinks data from financial statements with reports,statements and letters in order to simplify the daily operations of anaccountant oraccounting firm. According to embodiments of the present invention, the systemisbased on the known CaseView.TM. tool, which in turn uses Microsoft Word.TM.andMicrosoft Excel.TM. applications and which may be used in a Design Mode todefinethe contents and layout of documents. More particularly, the system accordingtoembodiments of the present invention concerns an improvement over theCaseView.TM. tool, wherein financial statements are prepared in the form ofWorddocuments which are produced dynamically, based on financial data and otherinformation provided in the system.
