USE OF A LOCAL ANTENNA BUSINESS LICENCE TO INFLUENCE THE PLACEMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS ANTENNAS IN MUNICIPALITIES

A new method to influence or control the placement of telecommunication antennas under federal jurisdiction using a municipal antenna business licence is described. Administrative land authorities including municipal, district, city, village, unincorporated and incorporated entities currently have little or no rights in the placement of telecommunication antennas within their boundaries. As the growth of certain types of antennas such as cellular antennas becomes more intrusive, municipalities are becoming more concerned about the look, aesthetics, placement, health, permitting, safety and the general intrusion of antennas in their communities. Municipalities have found that the have very little control over these concerns as they are federally mandated. Described is a new method of using a local municipal antenna business licence to control the use of properties by landowners within their jurisdiction for the erection of telecommunication antennas.
