A method and system for folding blanks of corrugated board for the productionoffolding boxes. The blanks are formed with fold-line structuring such asgrooves,scores, perforations or the like aligned at least approximately parallel tothe course ofthe corrugations of the corrugated board and possibly also at right anglesthereto. Theboard can be folded or bent along the fold-line structuring. In the region ofat leastsome of the grooves, scores, perforations or the like aligned at leastapproximatelyparallel to the course of the corrugations of the corrugated board along whichfolding iscarried out, a liquid is introduced before the folding operation, as a resultof which thecorrugated board in the region of the fold-line structuring is made flexible.
