PURPOSE: A method for processing medical images and an apparatus thereof are provided to generate a high definition medical image, by estimating the dispersion of coefficients of image information of each scale, and adjusting the values of the coefficients of the image information of each scale by using the estimated dispersion and the coefficients of the disassembled image information.;CONSTITUTION: A medical image processor disassembles at least one medical image into image information with multiple directions of multi scale, and estimates dispersion for coefficients of the image information of each scale among the image information of the multi scale(81,82). A processor adjusts values for the coefficients of the image information of each scale by using the estimated dispersion and the coefficients of the image information of the multi scale(83).
