The laundry dryer device (Tr) has a drying region (TB) and a preheater (Vhz) for preheating of the drying region. The preheating of the drying region is carried out before a drying process. The preheating is carried out by a closed process air circuit. A detecting device (S) is provided for detecting of drying degree of a laundry to be dried, where the detecting device is deactivated during the preheating. A display device (A) is provided for displaying an end of pre-heating, particularly an acoustic or optical displaying of the end of the preheating. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a laundry dryer device.
