The method involves providing computer-aided design-model and quality attributes from a component designer (H1) for a component to be printed and certificates regarding the requirements at a three-dimensional printer (D1) by storing on a storage medium of a portable object for a consumer. The certificates are distributed from the component designer at an appropriate three-dimensional printer which meets the quality attributes and requirements.
