The charging station (1) has an interface (2) which is provided for connecting photovoltaic system on house roof. An electric vehicle charging interface (8) is provided for charging an electric vehicle. The state of charge of buffer memory (3) is monitored during loading of the buffer memory with energy supplied from photovoltaic system. The energy charging function of buffer memory is controlled by control device (7), until target charge is reached. An independent claim is included for method for charging electric vehicle.
