The chain drive (1) has a drive sprocket (3) which comprises a support ring and the chain side plates (7,9) on the outer surface. A support ring facing the longitudinal side of the link plate has a guide contour. The guide contour of the link plate extends at a tangential outlet of the anti back bend chain (2) from the sprocket to the thrust strand (S) to the support ring supported in the thrust direction. The front chain link (6) of the chain links (4,5) is led in the main direction of thrust (HS) of the thrust strand when the front chain link is apart from the drive sprocket.
