The method involves determining a current position (2) of a vehicle by a position determination device (1). The energy efficiency-optimized start and end points of vehicle are determined based on data regarding traffic routes in a preset environment around current position of vehicle by an evaluating device (3). The graphical representation of determined start point is performed. The actual/virtual representation (5) of vehicle ahead lying road course is displayed in a display device (4) of vehicle or is projected into field-of-view of rider by a projection device. An independent claim is included for a vehicle driver assistance system.
