The method involves providing storage apparatus (17) with sort station. The printing sheets are moved to sort station of storage apparatus along the conveying path in transport direction. The set of printing sheets is transported to storage apparatus in the longitudinal direction around defined offset position. The positioned printing sheets in the defined offset relative position are held for a period. The set of printing sheets are removed from the storage apparatus and transported to a destination while retaining relative positions between the printing sheets. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) device for providing set of printing sheets in printing machine; and (2) system for providing set of printing sheets in printing machine.
