The method involves selecting an energy provider (500) for accounting a charge amount to be stored in a charge storage (110) of a vehicle by an operator (200) of a mains supply (300) or by a driver of the vehicle. The charge storage is charged. The charge amount stored in the charge storage during charging in the vehicle is determined. The charge amount is transmitted to the operator and/or the energy provider. The charge amount stored in the charge storage during charging is determined by the operator or the energy provider.
